The story of Uddog o Uddokta began on January 1, 2012, in Bangladesh, founded by Dr. Forhad Hossain with a vision to encourage entrepreneurship, support aspiring entrepreneurs, and create opportunities for people to transform ideas into meaningful economic and social initiatives. What began in Bangladesh gradually developed into a broader network and platform for entrepreneurship, learning, collaboration, and community engagement. When founder Dr. Forhad Hossain moved to Japan, he saw an opportunity to extend the vision of Uddog o Uddokta and build a formal platform that could connect entrepreneurship activities in Japan with its growing international network. This led to the establishment of Uddog o Uddokta Japan as a General Incorporated Association (一般社団法人) on December 18, 2020. The official registration established a broad mandate covering entrepreneurship research, training, consultation, business development, access to finance, internationalization, social entrepreneurship, social business, inclusive entrepreneurship, and collaboration with organizations in Japan and overseas.
The establishment of the Japan association represented an important step in the evolution of Uddog o Uddokta, connecting its roots in Bangladesh with a growing vision for cross-border entrepreneurship, research, education, and sustainable social development.
Uddog o Uddokta was founded on January 1, 2012, in Bangladesh.
The initiative began with a commitment to encourage entrepreneurship, empower aspiring entrepreneurs, and connect people, ideas, knowledge, and opportunities.
Over the following years, Uddog o Uddokta developed its activities and networks around entrepreneurship, learning, community engagement, and entrepreneurial support.
This period established the foundation for what would later become a more international platform.
After moving to Japan, founder Dr. Forhad Hossain took the initiative to establish a formal Japan-based organization carrying forward the broader vision of Uddog o Uddokta.
On December 18, 2020, Uddog o Uddokta Japan was formally established as a General Incorporated Association in Tokayo, Japan.
The Japan association continued developing connections among entrepreneurs, academia, students, communities, organizations, and international networks.
Its direction increasingly moved beyond conventional business support toward connecting entrepreneurship with education, research, social business, inclusion, community development, and sustainable social impact.
In 2025, the Association's registered principal office was relocated to Fukuoka, Japan, opening another chapter in its institutional development.
Today, Uddog o Uddokta Japan is developing its work around four interconnected pillars:
Research | Training | Consulting | Funding
Through these pillars, we seek to connect academia, government, industry, entrepreneurs, development organizations, and communities and translate knowledge and collaboration into field-level action.
Although Uddog o Uddokta Japan was formally established in 2020, its roots go back to the founding of Uddog o Uddokta in Bangladesh in 2012.
The journey from Bangladesh to Japan reflects an evolving vision: from encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting individual entrepreneurs to building a platform where research, education, entrepreneurship, international collaboration, and field-level implementation can work together.
Today, our activities are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while looking beyond 2030 toward emerging social, economic, technological, and environmental challenges.
Our continuing purpose can be expressed simply: Sustainable Social Development Through Entrepreneurship
